Stockstill injured in blowout home loss to UTSA

A once promising season for MTSU took a turn for the worst in Saturday's 42-25loss to the Texas-San Antonio at Floyd Stadium.

Record-breaking sophomore quarterback Brent Stockstill left the game in the second quarter with a shoulder injury. He was sacked by UTSA's Baylen Baker and landed awkwardly on his non-throwing shoulder.

"I've got a preliminary report out there but he's going to the hospital and we're doing all of that right now," MTSU coach Rick Stockstill said after the game. "It doesn't look good going forward but we'll see what the doctor says."

Redshirt-freshman John Urzua replaced Stockstill and was underwhelmingly unimpressive.
