Stewarts Creek rolls past La Vergne

SMYRNA -- Stewarts Creek won its second straight game on Friday night, defeating La Vergne 44-30 in a game in which the two programs honored the last Navy Blue Angels Marine Capt. Jeff Kuss.

The rushing attack was dominant for the Red Hawks as they gained 560 yards on the ground, led by running back Tayne Davis, who ran for 81 yards on 10 carries with three touchdowns.

The Red Hawks were able to take the early lead with a 52-yard, five-play drive that saw running back Zach Long run for 28 yards on three carries and quarterback Ryan Haraway score on a bootleg run of three yards.
