TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – It took 18 years, but the Middle Tennessee softball team is finally heading back to an NCAA Regional.
After finishing the regular season with a 34-20 record and 11-11 mark in Conference USA play, good for a sixth-place finish in the league, the Raiders went undefeated through the C-USA Tournament to capture their first conference crown since 2000 when MT was in the Ohio Valley.
On Sunday, the team found out during the NCAA's selection show that they will travel Friday to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to take on No. 12 Alabama.
"The anticipation and the hype leading up to this Friday is just unreal," sixth-year Middle Tennessee coach Jeff Breeden said.
