Veteran Siegel coach Greg Wyant had little interest - if any - in comparing Thursday's season-opening defeat against visiting Ravenwood to last year's loss at the hands of the Raptors.
"You never feel good coming out of a loss," Wyant said Thursday night after his Stars dropped a 23-19 decision to the defending Class 6A state champions at home. "We're not into moral victories."
That said, the outcome was significantly closer than last year's matchup, when Ravenwood broke open a close contest midway through the second quarter and virtually coasted to a 47-27 victory. It was the first of 14 for the Raptors, and the first of eight straight losses for the Stars.
