Siegel couldn't have scripted a better beginning to the Michael Copley era, as the Stars blew out visiting Stewarts Creek 43-2 Friday at Ken Nolan Stadium in Copley's coaching debut.
The Siegel defense set the tone early, forcing a three-and-out and setting the offense up with good starting field position. From there, it became the Lelan Wilhoite show.
The Nashville Christian transfer racked up 67 yards, as Siegel marched down the field like a well-oiled machine, taking a 7-0 lead just minutes in.
On the ensuing kickoff, Copley pulled a move that was safe to say no one saw coming.
