The Siegel Stars fended off the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks for the second consecutive night, winning 6-1 and claiming the district 7-AAA tournament championship at Siegel on Tuesday night.
Though both teams will advance to the regionals, the win gives Siegel home field advantage for a game.
"Absolutely getting a home game was important," said Siegel coach Craig Reavis. "We looked a little shaky in the first inning, but after that we played outstanding. John Ross (Langworthy) threw well, we did what we needed to at the plate, took advantage of it and got the win, which is exactly what we wanted.
