Four Rutherford County football teams will be home on Friday night, and three will test their mettle on the road in the first round of the TSSAA Playoffs.
In Class 6A, Oakland (10-0) is a No. 1 seed and will host eight seed Blount County (2-8). The Patriots capped off an undefeated regular season with a 49-7 win at home over Smyrna last Friday night.
"The new season starts now," said Oakland coach Kevin Creasy. "Everybody is 1-0, and if you lose you go home. The first 10 games were important as far as giving us a good seed, but the second season is really what everyone looks forward to.
