Injuries can often be the end of an athlete's career, especially when it is a foot injury for a runner.
Middle Tennessee redshirt junior Eliud Rutto's collegiate running days could have been cut short when he had to have surgery to remove a bunion, fuse two bones together and remove another bone from his foot after his sophomore outdoor track and field season in 2014. But, the distance runner from Eldoret, Kenya kept positive and knew he would find his way back to the track.
"My coach has been coaching me for a while, so when I had the surgery he advised me to stay positive about running and keep focused," Rutto said.
