If the rest of the 2017 high school football season plays out like the first eight weeks have, Rutherford County may have to be renamed "running back County."
Blackman senior running back Master Teague grabs most of the headlines, and deservedly so. The 5-foot-11 tailback put up 2,031 rushing yards with 24 touchdowns during his junior year and committed to Ohio State over the summer.
However, with Teague's potentially season-ending ankle injury, a new group of running backs have stepped up, making Rutherford County football fans take notice. Among those backs are Riverdale's Savion Davis, Oakland's Jeron Rooks, Siegel's Lelan Wilhoite and MTCS' Kemari McGowan.
