Riverdale senior guard Anastasia Hayes was named a Class AAA Miss Basketball finalist on Friday.
The McDonald's All-American, who has helped lead No. 1 Riverdale (state and nationally) to a 24-0 record is one of three finalists, with the other two being Houston's Jayla Hemingway and Bradley Central's Rhyne Howard.
The Mr. and Miss Basketball awards will be presented to the top girls and boys in five classifications of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association on the floor of Murphy Center on the campus of MTSU on Tuesday, March 7 at 7 p.m.
A statewide committee of sportswriters selected winners based on performance during the 2016-2017 regular season.
