Riverdale's girls basketball team wasn't going to be denied in the Class AAA state tournament Saturday.
The Lady Warriors set the tone early with a frantic offensive pace, which ultimately led to a 68-36 rout over Oak Ridge in the BlueCross Championships at Murphy Center.
It was the fifth state championship for the Lady Warriors, who won titles in 2007, 2010, 2012 and 2013.
"For us to be surrounded these kids at Riverdale is great," said Riverdale coach Randy Coffman. "They're quality individuals and great basketball players. The words can't describe it.
"These girls are so resilient it's unbelievable, and I'm so proud to coach them.
