The top ranked Riverdale Warriors defeated the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks 57-55 Monday evening at Blackman in the district 7-AAA girls' championship game at Blackman
The win left the Lady Warriors still unbeaten and was the program's 10th district title.
The game defined what a championship game should be, with multiple lead changes and the largest lead of the game being five points for either team.
"Give Stewarts Creek a lot of credit," said Riverdale coach and district coach of the year Randy Coffman. "They came out and took the game to us. They were physical, and the game got to be physical and it led to a lot of rough play, which plays to Stewarts Creek because they are such a physical team.
