Despite no state tournament experience, the Riverdale Lady Warriors more than made themselves at home in the first round of BlueCross championships at Murphy Center on Thursday.
Riverdale shot a sizzling 65 percent from the field, including a torrid 70 percent from 3-point range, enabling it pull past Morristown West. The Lady Warriors will face Memphis Central, a 43-38 win over previously unbeaten Wilson Central, on Friday in the semifinals at 11:30 a.m.
"It was huge," Riverdale coach Randy Coffman said his team's 3-point shooting, "and a lot of that had to do with young lady (junior guard Anastasia Hayes) sitting right here beside me.
