EL PASO, Texas — Middle Tennessee men's basketball wrapped up its regular season with a 77-65 loss at UTEP on Saturday. A 15-2 burst early in the first half propelled the Miners into a lead they would not relinquish.
The Blue Raiders (18-13, 11-9 Conference USA) took an early lead, but it did not last long. UTEP (14-17, 7-13) shot 60 percent (15-25) from the floor and 67 percent (6-9) from 3-point range in the first half to take a 39-32 lead into the locker room.
The Miners spent the first 10 minutes of the second half just as hot from the floor, going 8-for12 from the floor and 2-for-2 from long range and 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
