MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee softball team easily defeated Rhode Island at home on Wednesday night. The Blue Raiders had a big seven run third inning on their way to a 10-1 victory over the Rams. With the win, MT is now 18-8 on the year.
Gretchen Greer got the complete game win, striking out four. She got her first two strikeouts on the first two batters of the game.
Despite the win, Rhode Island got the board first. The Rams got two runners on base with back-to-back doubles. Then a single up the middle from Paige Julich put Rhode Island ahead, 1-0.
