BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Middle Tennessee Softball team picked up a win over UAB to close out the series on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Raiders scored four runs early and hung on to defeat the Blazers, 4-3.
Middle is now 24-12, 6-6 on the year, making this Head Coach Jeff Breeden's winningest season in his six seasons. UAB falls to 13-22-1, 5-3-1.
The Blue Raiders jumped out to a quick lead in the series finale. Precious Birdsong and Morgan Harris reached base on back-to-back singles into the outfield. Kristin Uselton then delivered a two-out smash over the head of the centerfielder.
