Raiders Drop Physical Match to Tennessee, 2-0

MURFREESBORO, Tenn - Despite six saves from goalkeeper Sydney Chalcraft, Middle Tennessee fell at home to in-state foe Tennessee Volunteers 2-0 at the Dean A. Hayes Stadium on Sunday night.

The potent offense of the Volunteers got going early, striking first in the 20th minute when Khadija Shaw put one by Chalcraft off an assist from Meghan Flynn. The Volunteers got another goal in the second half from McKinley Burkett in the 67th minute. Tennessee had 15 shots, compared to eight from Middle Tennessee.

The Blue Raiders put many of their shots on goal, but were unable to get by Tennessee goalkeeper Shae Yanez, who has only allowed one goal on the season through six games.
