MURFREESBORO – Middle Tennessee's Asher O'Hara was named to the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Great 8 for Week 8 after leading the Blue Raiders to a road win over Rice. O'Hara joins Ian Book (Notre Dame), Justin Fields (Ohio State), Dillon Gabriel (UCF), Graham Mertz (Wisconsin), Desmond Ridder (Cincinnati), Zac Thomas (Appalachian State), and Malik Willis (Liberty).
O'Hara accounted for all four offensive touchdowns — including the game-winner in double overtime — and 402 yards of the Blue Raiders' 451 yards of total offense in the two-overtime win over the Owls.
O'Hara had a very efficient first half, completing 14-of-17 passes for 174 yards and two TDs as the Blue Raiders went into the locker room with a 14-13 lead.
