Oakland's Oliver headed to Georgia Tech

When Oakland safety Kaleb Oliver withdrew his commitment to Mississippi State on Jan. 16, it was a perceived foregone conclusion he would end up in either Louisville or Ole Miss.

However, Oliver released a statement via Twitter, saying he would be spending his next four years playing in Atlanta for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

"After seeing the campus and the student life, I knew it was somewhere I could feel comfortable," Oliver told rivals.com. "You're in Atlanta in a big city but it still has that campus vibe so it's the best of both worlds."

As impressive as the campus was, it was Georgia Tech recruit and Riverdale cornerback Gentry Bonds, who sealed the deal in Oliver's recruitment.
