Sitting atop District 7 with an undefeated record in district play, there is no doubt the Oakland Lady Patriots (8-3-1, 6-0-1) are going to get everyone's best shot from here on out.
That is exactly what happened Thursday night, as Oakland held off a late comeback to seal a 3-2 win over the Blackman Lady Blaze (2-5-3, 1-3-1) at Ray Hughes Stadium.
"In the first half, I thought we played really well," Oakland coach Jeff Boynton said. "We were passing and moving and keeping possession. We were high pressing and our defensive effort was good. They really didn't have many chances at all.
