The Oakland Lady Patriots (10-3-1, 7-0-1) have run through District 7-AAA all season long.
Thursday night, they faced their toughest test to date, hanging on for a 3-2 win over the Siegel Lady Stars (8-3-3, 4-1-2), finishing unbeaten in district play and earning the regular season district title.
"District games, a lot of them are tough, so it's in the details that separate first and second," Oakland coach Jeff Boynton said. "This game was a little more open because they had to win in order to try and get first place. We tried to use that to our advantage.
