It appears that Jacoby Stevens took this to heart during the Patriots 41-13 win over Hillsboro at Oakland Friday night in a game televised live on ESPNU.
With the Patriots leading 13-6 after a lengthy lightning delay, Stevens intercepted a Javonta Payton pass and set up Oakland deep in Hillsboro territory. Five plays later, Oakland scored and took its first two-score lead of the game.
"He (Jacoby) was having a very average game and then you look at him get off the ground," oakland coach Kevin Creasy said. "He used his 42-inch vertical to get up and pick that ball off so it definitely was a game changing moment and that's what we always say about him.
