MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Following a 4-0 shutout of LIU Brooklyn last Friday, Sydney Navarro has been named C-USA Defensive Player of the Week by the conference office. This is Blue Raider soccer's first C-USA Player of the Week award since the 2015 season.
Navarro anchored the Blue Raiders backline that included the second shutout of the season. Navarro silenced the Blackbird offense, not allowing LIU to take a shot through the first 61 minutes of the game. LIU was only allowed three total, with only one on frame. Navarro also got forward for the Blue Raider attack, participating on corner kicks.
