Murfreesboro police officer Charlie Alexander has been helping protect the city and fighting crime since 2014.
When he's not on duty, Alexander also enjoys fighting people -- in the Mixed Martial Arts octagon.
While growing up in Nashville, Alexander was always active in sports, but he also had a sense of urgency when it came to helping people. That eventually led him to make the decision to go into law enforcement.
"I've always been in the business of helping people, and I've always just been a helper," Alexander said. "It's a trait that I picked up as a young kid.
