The 2017 football season hasn't started yet, but a few Blue Raiders are already making national headlines.
Quarterback Brent Stockstill has already been named to preseason watch lists for the Maxwell Award (nation's top football player), Davey O'Brien Award (nation's top college quarterback), Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award (most outstanding senior or fourth-year quarterback) and the Wuerffel Trophy (player that best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement).
He was also chosen as Conference USA football's Scholar Athlete of the Year - given to the top student-athlete based on academic achievement, athletic achievement and service.
