It was a mixed bag of results for MTSU's Lady Raiders when they returned home for a double-header Conference USA swing against Charlotte and Old Dominion last week.
MTSU pulled out a 72-67 decision over Charlotte last Saturday, yet suffered a gut-wrenching 61-58 loss to ODU when Makayla Timmons' desperation 3-pointer from 35 feet out at the buzzer was good.
The Lady Monarchs (7-10, 3-2) had taken a 58-57 lead on Destinee Young's 15-footer with 12 seconds remaining, but MTSU freshman Alex Johnson hit the first of two free throws to tie the game at 58-58.
However, Johnson missed the second free throw, which set up Timmons' heroics at the buzzzer.
