Protecting its home court is an obvious must if the MTSU men's basketball team is going to contend for the Conference USA championship.
So far, so good.
However, finishing off Texas-San Antonio last Saturday on the heels of a victory over UTEP two days earlier was anything but easy.
MTSU trailed by as many as 11 points in the second half, but rallied for a 79-71 victory at Murphy Center to sweep its first conference home stand of the season.
"First of all (UTSA coach) Brooks (Thompson) is a former player of mine, and I'm proud of the job he did with his team today and with the way they played," said MTSU coach Kermit Davis.
