For all of the pre-game hype surrounding Saturday's home opener for MTSU, the Blue Raiders played about as poorly as one could imagine, falling to the Vanderbilt Commodores 28-6 at Floyd Stadium.
"That's a good team out there," MTSU coach Rick Stockstill said. "Probably my biggest fears going into the game, were what happened in the game. I was worried how we would hold up on the offensive line and obviously, we didn't hold up very well. It was a rather embarrassing performance and I'm disappointed in how we played."
Vanderbilt scored on its opening drive, marching 75 yards down the field, capped off with 37-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Shurmur to Kalija Lipscomb.
