MTSU's baseball team was the victim of bad luck, injuries and poor play at times, which led to an 8-14 start overall and 1-5 record in Conference USA play.
However, the Blue Raiders turned their fortunes around going into Sunday's final game of a three-game series at Marshall. MTSU rallied in both games to sweep a double-header against the Thundering Herd, winning 8-6 in 10 innings in the opener and 6-4 in the nightcap.
"There's nothing bigger than getting two wins in conference on the road," MTSU coach Jim McGuire said. "I'm really proud of the way we rebounded, after being behind in both games.
