It was a dominant performance for the Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars (7-1,5-1) defense as they shut out the Cannon County Lions (2-7, 0-5), 35-0 at home on Friday night.
The Lions had trouble moving the ball against the Cougars stout defense as they gave up five sacks and three interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. Cornerback Lucas Dale accounted for a sack and a pick six.
"Personally, I just want to thank the coaches because they told us exactly what they were going to run," Dale said. "So with all the trust in them it allows us to perform the way we do, and honestly I am just thankful for them.
