SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Seniors and the 21st-ranked doubles team in the nation, Pavel Motl and Stijn Slump, started doubles play in the 2021 ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego, California at the Barnes Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon.
No. 21 Motl and Slump matched up against Stanford's Timothy Sah and Max Basing. Motl and Slump battled but fell 6-1 and 6-2 against the Cardinal's duo.
The duo will begin play on Friday in the doubles consolation round of 16. Motl and Slump will take on Valentino Caratini and Agustin Tamagnone of Georgia Gwinnett College tomorrow.
