Kendall Mills pitched a three-hit shutout and Loryn Sherwood hit her eighth and ninth home run of the season as the Stewarts Creek softball team defeated Oakland 2-0 at home on Senior Night Thursday.
The win ended the Patriot's four-game win streak and kept Stewarts Creek mathematically alive in the race for the district crown.
"The funny thing about our district is you can go from first to sixth in two games," said Stewarts Creek coach Tory Atwood. "So this and our remaining two games are very important. But the only team we can fix and the only one we can worry about is our own.
