MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Belmont (23-11, 13-4 OVC) starter Alex Clesi allowed just two Middle Tennessee (18-26, 5-10 C-USA) baserunners to reach in the Blue Raiders final midweek game of the season, an effort good enough to give the Bruins a 4-0 win on Wednesday at Blue Raider Softball Field.
Clesi gave up a single to Middle Tennessee first baseman to leadoff the second inning and she walked catcher to leadoff the third. Following Tepe's leadoff walk, Clesi retired seven straight before giving way to Delayna Bryant in the sixth inning, who earned the save.
Belmont scored the game's first run on a one-out sacrifice fly by catcher Audrey Lyle.
