MIAMI, Fla. – Middle Tennessee softball (30-15, 9-8) dropped the final game with FIU (20-24, 6-12) 1-0. Gretchen Mead threw a complete game holding the Panthers to just one run.
The first and only run of game three came in the second inning. Mead held FIU scoreless the rest of the game. The Blue Raiders had a chance to answer in the third with two runners on base but couldn't capitalize.
MTSU had another chance to take the lead in the fourth with bases loaded but came up empty once again.
