DENTON, Texas – Middle Tennessee softball (34-17, 13-10 C-USA) won game three of today's pitcher's duel at North Texas (32-21, 16-8) 3-2 today.
The Blue Raiders jumped on the Mean Green ace Ashley Peters early with two hits in the first inning. Laura Mealer hit a double followed by a single from Amaya Harris but were stranded on-base and held scoreless in the first frame. Gretchen Mead was excellent in the circle in her final regular season start giving up just two runs in eight innings.
Shelby Echols led off with a single in the third and a stolen base for her 25th of the season to move into scoring position.
