PHOENIX, Ariz. – Middle Tennessee fell to Grand Canyon 68-59 on Saturday afternoon at the Global Credit Union Arena.
Right out of the gate, the Lady Raiders (10-4, 0-0 CUSA) found themselves in a battle with the Lopes (10-3, 2-0 WAC) trailing by nine at the first media break. MTSU chipped away at the GCU lead and entered the second period down 17-20. The Lopes opened the second quarter with an 8-0 run to extend their lead to nine, however, the Lady Raiders continued to attack the paint and entered the half down 33-35.
Coming out of the locker room GCU jumped out to a 42-38 lead.
