DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Middle Tennessee suffered its first loss of the season as it dropped a gut-wrenching 59-55 overtime decision to Marquette in the Daytona Beach Invitational here Friday.
The Lady Raiders (4-1) had possession and a chance for win at the end of regulation; however, Kseniya Malashka's 15-footer was off the mark, and Marquette outscored Middle Tennessee 13-9 in the extra period to score the comeback win.
"It was a tough game on both sides," Lady Raider Head Coach Rick Insell said. "We battled and gave ourselves a chance, but so did Marquette.
