MTSU's Lady Raider put up a good fight but ultimately fell to the No. 5 ranked Louisville Cardinals 91-72 Wednesday night at Murphy Center before a crowd of 4,516.
The Lady Raiders got off to a sluggish start, getting outscored 22-9 in the first period. They shot poorly from the field and could not keep pace with Louisville's high-scoring offense.
"I think the main thing was us getting back on defense and us just communicating," point guard Ty Petty said. "We got lost several times. I think the whole game, if we would've just stuck to our system, it definitely would've been a better turnout.
