MURFREESBORO – Middle Tennessee wide receiver was named the Tennessee Sports Writers Player of the week as announced on Tuesday.
Forced to play quarterback after starter was injured during the second series of Saturday's game against FAU, James turned in one of the greatest individual performances in NCAA history.
James rushed for a career-best 207 yards and three touchdowns while adding 120 yards and a score on four receptions. He became just the sixth player and first receiver in NCAA (FBS) history to rush for 200-plus yards and also have 100-plus yards receiving.
