MINNEAPOLIS -- Missing starting quarterback Brent Stockstill warranted concern for MTSU Saturday at Minnesota.
Losing star wide receiver Richie James early only amplified the challenge for MTSU (1-2). The Blue Raiders couldn't sustain drives, and their defense couldn't hold down the Golden Gophers forever in a 34-3 loss.
"You take your two best players out of this game, and that handcuffs you tremendously," MTSU head football coach Rick Stockstill said.
The junior quarterback didn't play Saturday at TFC Bank Stadium in Minneapolis due to an injury at Syracuse last week that kept him out of practice all week.
