Football: First half filled with good and bad

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – With a homecoming win over Florida International on Oct. 7, Middle Tennessee ended the first half of its 2017 season with an even 3-3 record and 1-1 mark in Conference USA play.

The Blue Raiders had plenty to evaluate in their first six games. In wins over Syracuse, Bowling Green and FIU, they looked efficient and at some instances dominant on both sides of the ball. However, in losses to Vanderbilt, Minnesota and FAU, turnovers and undisciplined play plagued the blue and white.

Injuries were also an overarching theme of the first half of MT's season.
