First Day of Auburn Invitational complete for Raiders

AUBURN, Ala. – On the first day of competition at the Auburn Invitational, Eliud Rutto continued his success from the previous weekend, while the Blue Raiders competed the jumps and distance events at the Hutsell-Rosen Track.

Rutto, who ranks second in the NCAA, notched a season-best 3:43.48 time in the 1,500 meter to capture first. The Eldoret, Kenya native's time currently ranks as the 26 best time in the NCAA.

Sampson Laari, who holds the 5,000 meter Middle Tennessee outdoor 5,000 meter record, finished second in the 1,500 meter in 3:43.58.

Alden Dixon and Kigen Chemadi competed in the 5K, finished fourth and ninth, respectively.
