MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Following the Vanderbilt Invitational last weekend, junior Abike Egbeniyi has been named the Conference USA Women's Track Athlete of the Week by the conference office earlier this morning.
Egbeniyi notched a second place finish in the 400-meter at the Vanderbilt Invitational with a time of 53.89. The Lagos, Nigeria product's time in the 400-meter marks the ninth fastest finish in the nation and the best in conference action this season.
Likewise, Egbeniyi ran as the anchor this weekend in the 4 x 400-meter relay to ink a fourth place finish with a time of 3:39.
