MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Junior Abike Egbeniyi has been named the Conference USA Female Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season by the conference office after her stellar performance this past weekend.
Egbeniyi claimed a first place finish at the Iowa State Classic to ink a personal best 52.64 in the 400-meter event. After improving her time by 1.21 seconds, Egbeniyi ranks ninth in the nation and leads the conference field in the respective event.
Likewise, Egbeniyi leads the conference in the 800-meter event (2:05.31) and ranks seventh in the nation.
