MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Tennessee Sports Writers have voted Middle Tennessee guard their Player of the Year after she helped lead Middle Tennessee to the C-USA women's basketball championship and a berth in the Dallas Regional in 2016.
The Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) rewarded Edwards' efforts by voting her the Player of the Year in Tennessee Friday. She is the first Blue Raider women's basketball player to win the honor.
"This is a great honor for Brea and she's very deserving," Middle Tennessee Head Coach said. "There have been some outstanding basketball players come through Middle Tennessee so to be the first to do something or win an award of this prominence says a lot about Brea and the year she had.
