MURFREESBORO, Tenn – In the second overtime period, Middle Tennessee's (6-2-1) Peyton DePriest hustled after a loose ball and drove a shot past the goalkeeper to lead the Blue Raiders past Rice (2-5-0) by a score of 3-2. Prior to that, the teams had been tied since the 66th minute when Rice found an equalizer just 5 minutes after DePriest gave MT its first lead of the game. This is the first overtime win in the 2018 season for the Blue Raiders and their first since October 1st of 2017, when DePriest also had the game winner over FIU.
