COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee took its smothering team defense to historic proportions in a convincing 65-47 win against longtime rival Tennessee Tech here Monday night.
The Lady Raiders (4-0) made history on the defensive end as they held Tennessee Tech to 47 points, marking the first time in program history that a Middle Tennessee team has held four straight opponents to less than 50 points.
Middle Tennessee entered the game ranked No. 14 nationally for scoring defense, allowing just 47 points per game.
