In a day and age where coaches seem to always be on the move, it's interesting to look athow fortunate MTSU has been in terms of keeping its quality coaches.
During this summer, The Murfreesboro Post has conducted Q &As with a lot of people, and in particular, current and past MTSU coaches.
The true treasure of MTSU has to be track and field coach Dean Hayes, who has been heer for 49 years.
Hayes has produced 47 conference championships and coach 85 All-Americans. Enough said.
So why has Hayes stayed so long? He says it's quite simple because the community embraced him upon his arrival and he never really wanted to go anywhere else.
