AUSTIN, Texas – Middle Tennessee's Kigen Chemadi notched a final round qualification during the first day of the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas.
Chemadi claimed the first Blue Raider qualification in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase event, finishing with a time of 8:44.79. The junior finished fourth overall in the preliminary round.
The long-distance runner will compete in the steeplechase finals on Friday, June 7 at the Mike A. Myers Stadium at 7:54 p.m.
Meanwhile, Abike Egbeniyi will make her final preliminary appearance tomorrow in the women's 800-meter prelims.
