CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Kigen Chemadi inks the 3,000-meter steeplechase champion title on Saturday afternoon during the third day of the Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 8:47.93, finishing close to 10 seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
Along with Chemadi earning his first champion title of the conference championships, 17 Blue Raiders qualified for the finals on Sunday in their respective events.
Eusila Chepkemei notched the first qualification mark on Saturday morning, after claiming first in the women's 1,500-meter event.
